Closure and seal
TIR transport requires that the goods be sealed at the place of shipment and that a TIR seal be placed on the goods to ensure that they are not unlawfully opened or tampered with during transport.

Upon arrival of the transport vehicle at the Customs-supervised workplace, the TIR Certificate holder is required to submit the TIR Certificate and Vehicle Approval Certificate to Customs. After the customs at the place of shipment has verified that the relevant materials are correct, the goods are inspected and a customs seal is imposed. After the formalities are completed, the customs will make the corresponding endorsement on the TIR card and the vehicle can leave.

In each transit country, the vehicle's seal is verified by customs and endorsed on the TIR card.

End TIR Transport
The TIR certificate holder can end the TIR transport only after the relevant materials and customs seals have been verified by the customs at the destination and the relevant customs formalities for TIR transport have been completed.

The shipper of the goods will need to apply to the TIR authority in the host country and provide relevant cargo information and documents.
